According to the law, it is mandatory to obtain this document for almost all vehicles. Trucks and cars, different types of trailers and semi-trailers, as well as motorcycles, tricycles and quad bikes, scooters and mopeds need to be inspected. Determining the category of the machine should be the first step of the procedure, because it determines the scheme of further actions.

The requirement to have a safety certificate applies primarily to products from manufacturers in Europe, Asia and the United States. However, the samples produced in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union of piecemeal production - cars individually assembled or radically re-equipped - must also be checked for compliance with technical standards.
