The certificate of explosion protection is one of the mandatory documents that gives the right to work with certain types of industrial equipment and equipment, to the name of which it is customary to add the letters Ex.
Certifications are subject to:
Ex products are separate items that perform functions related to the processing of electricity and telecommunications, including: generation, transformation, transfer, regulation, distribution, storage, measurement and other operations, as well as products intended for use in areas with increased explosiveness.
Ex-components are parts of objects that purchase the Ex prefix when they are embedded in products or systems that receive an explosion protection certificate
Ex-systems are constructions from separate Ex-products assembled in accordance with the requirements of explosion protection.
Ex equipment - under this definition in the regulatory documentation, all listed Ex products, components and systems
By appointment, all Ex equipment is divided into:
Equipment for mines, mines, quarries and concentrating plants
Other electrical equipment for installation in potentially hazardous conditions.
Certificates must be obtained for all equipment where the marking is located in the following positions:
Explosion-proof level in normal operation (from 0 to 2)
mark of compliance with explosion protection standards - Ex
group of electrical equipment;
The temperature class - from T1 to T6 indicates within what temperature the equipment is considered protected

The explosion protection certificate is issued on the basis of the decree approving the Rules for the Certification of Electrical Equipment, which are mandatory for explosive environments, the Federal Law on Technical Regulation and the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union on the Safety of Equipment for Explosive Environments.
Certificates of explosion protection are issued only by enterprises that have state accreditation and are registered in the State Register. Only the document with the registration number is considered valid.
Procedure for obtaining an explosion protection certificate
In order to obtain a certificate of compliance with the requirements of explosion protection for equipment, it is necessary:
Make a request
sign a contract that determines the procedure, timing and cost of works to carry out tests
pay for the certification service
submit a package of documentation;
provide equipment for research activities;
get issued permits.
The certificate is obliged to receive all manufacturers who declare explosion protection of their own products. For example, manufacturers of equipment for blasting wells, electrical equipment for mines.

Foreign manufacturers are obliged to provide all documentation in Russian, as well as a copy of the certificate of explosion protection obtained at ATEX (international certification center).
